Archeo Slow A Volterra

Questo fine settimana è il primo week end d’estate e dà ufficialmente il via alla stagione turistica 2015. In Toscana sarà un pullulare di eventi (circa 500), raccolti tutti sotto la terza edizione di Toscana Arcobaleno d’Estate: una vera e propria festa diffusa dalle spiagge alle piazze della nostra regione. E mentre Volterra promuove se stessa all’interno del “Fuori Expo” di Milano, sabato in San Giusto c’è Archeo Slow, un progetto educativo e culturale di Slow Food dedicato alla scoperta, alla promozione e alla valorizzazione del patrimonio storico-archeologico e gastronomico.

Il progetto coinvolge la condotta Slow Food di Volterra - Alta Valle del Cecina e prevede l’apertura straordinaria della Casa Museo Consortini. Organizzato in collaborazione con il Museo, la delegazione Fisar di Volterra, il patrocinio del Comune e della Fondazione Crv, il programma inizia alle 18,30 con un’escursione sulle mura etrusche che circondano il Borgo di San Giusto ed include una cena con prodotti tipici del volterrano. La collezione del Consortini, scultore e maestro artigiano,  rappresenta un’altra buona occasione per residenti e turisti di visitare le bellezze del Borgo di San Giusto come la Chiesa, la Badia Camaldolese e le Balze. 

Archeo Slow In Volterra

This weekend is the first weekend of summer and the official start of the 2015 tourist season. Tuscany will be teeming with events (about 500 in total), all part of the third edition of "Toscana Arcobaleno d’Estate" (Tuscany Rainbow Summer): a veritable feast involving the beaches and squares of our region. And while Volterra is on show at "Fuori Expo" in Milan, on Saturday in San Giusto there's "Archeo Slow": an educational and cultural Slow Food project devoted to the exploration and promotion of the historic, archaeological and gastronomic legacy of the local area.

The project involves the Volterra - Alta Valle del Cecina Slow Food Group and envisages the special opening of the Casa Museo Consortini (Consortini House Museum). It has been organised in collaboration with the Museum and the FISAR contingent of Volterra, with sponsorship by the Municipality and the CRV Foundation. The programme starts at 6.30 p.m. with a walk on the Etruscan walls that surround the village of San Giusto, and includes a dinner featuring local products from Volterra. The visit to the Consortini collection, with the work of this sculptor and master craftsman, also provides a good opportunity for residents and tourists to enjoy the beauties of the village of San Giusto, including the Church, the Camaldolese Abbey and the Cliffs.
